The Annual Barber Family "Barbie-Q"!

Every year on the 3rd of July we have our "Annual Barber Family "Barbie-Q"!! It is such a fun tradition! First, we have a BBQ and then the lighting of the Barbies!! It is so much fun to see what my family comes up with!! It is so much FUN!

Peyton had so much fun on the little trampoline in my Aunt Maryann's backyard!

His favorite activity was to take a pair of socks and throw it over the net. He would laugh and laugh! The little things that make babies laugh kills me!

Peyton found a plate of cookies that he was able to reach and went to town!! I think that he had about three huge cookies by the time I caught him. He is watching the kids hit the pinata. He is not quite sure what they are doing.

He is not a child that sits back and watches. He wants in on the action and loved hitting the pinata with the stick!

He was happy watching the kids dig for the all the goodies. He was happy with the string that was around his feet!

And now for the Barbies. My cousins children raided their toy closet and made a whole show of fireworks. They were all boys so they didn't have any barbies!

My cousin Nicole makes very cool barbies. She puts a lot of time into her barbies for the "Barbie-Q"! This is Carny barbie. It has all the fun stuff a carnival has...including fireworks!!

This is "Stimulus Package Barbie". I thought this one was funny!

This barbie is especially funny because their is a story behind it. It is my cousin Robyn's "Ode and Farewell to Oregon".

Some of the great-grandchildren don't like to harm barbies so they harm dinosaurs and other stuff instead!

Another "No Barbies were harmed in the making".

This is "Million Dollar Baby" Barbie.

"High School Musical" Barbie.

On the back of the "High School Musical" Barbie it read "High School Musical: VI...The Apocalypse"! I thought that was so funny. These Barbies however were very resilient! After all the fireworks went off the cast of High School Musical was unharmed. My cousin's little girl Elle was able to keep the barbies!

This is Jill Stevens, former Miss Utah and the Ivory Homes spokesperson. We include everyone in on the fun!!

Miss South Carolina, the girl who messed up her speech a couple of years ago!

This was my Barbie, "Little Mermaid and the three straight to video sequels"!

Bryan's Barbie was "Mr. Noodle". He thinks that Mr. Noodle from "Elmo's World" is super creepy and had to blow him up!!

This is "Go Team Jacob" Barbie from "Twilight". This was an awesome display. Jacob even sparkled and Bella was strapped to a tree!

This was "Finale" Barbie.

This is my Dad's Barbie....."In Memory of Micheal Jackson" He actually handcrafted the casket! Michael had a handcrafted jacket and silver glove! He actually survived the fireworks!

I thought that the face had a creepy resemblance to Micheal's actual face!!

Peyton loved the Sparklers! He wanted to touch the fire so bad!!

The Barber family waiting for the show to begin!!

I know that you can't really see the Barbies but this is the end result!!

It is an awesome display!

Peyton was a little scared by the screaming fireworks!

Cute Jetta at the "Barbie-Q"!!
This is such a fun tradition!! It is so fun to think and prepare your Barbie for the big day! I hope that this is a tradition that lasts a very long time!!

Kauai

We recently took a trip to Kauai, Hawaii. It was sort of my gift for completing an 18 credit hour semester! it was so much fun . We went with my family. This is a picture of farms in Kauai. Peyton was fast asleep in the car!
We wore Peyton out several times. He fell asleep in the pool in his floaty! He loved floating around the pool!

Peyton loved the wild birds in Kauai! He would run around and chase them into bushes. This is the sort of picture that I get of my child. It is always blurry. The only time that I can get him to sit still for a picture is when he trips and falls!

We stayed at the Hilton Resort. They had a fun pools! They had a water slide that went into one pool. We had contests on who could go down the slide the fastest! I think that my cousin Tyler's girlfriend Lindsay won!

We had so much fun hanging out in the pool!

This is a picture at Tunnels Beach. It has tons of coral reef and is a great snorkel and scuba spot in Kauai! It was so beautiful it was like swimming next to the jungle. I guess that it kind of was the jungle. It was so pretty!

Peyton was not a fan of the ocean. He did not like the waves. He was just fine up on the shore playing in the sand!

Awesome waves behind us on our way to Tunnels Beach!

This is a picture of the "Grand Canyon of Hawaii". It was so beautiful.

An update...FINALLY!!

I know that it has been forever since I have updated our blog! The last semester sure took it out of me. My last semester consisted of 18 credit hours! I am not sure how I made it....but I did with all A's to boot! We are still living with my parents in their basement (bless their hearts for that one!). We will be moving to Dallas, Texas next May. Bryan has been accepted to Parker College of Chiropractic their. I will be doing my student teaching this fall at Jennie P. Stewart Elementary School in Centerville, Utah. I am excited for this to start! I will graduate with my Elementary Education degree in December! It has been a long road...but I can finally see the end of the road...and I love it!
Peyton is getting so big! He is almost 16 months old. I can't believe how fast the time goes. He is going everywhere and getting into everything! He is a very busy little boy and keeps us going ALL day long. We are very tired at the end of the day! He is so fun though. I love watching him learn and discover new things.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I know that I am really bad at this but I am still learning. I finally have time to sit down and learn how to blog (I am pathetic I know!) I am almost finished with the semester (can I get a hallelujah?) Seriously, I think I almost died four times. Level 2 of the Elementary Education Program at Weber State was NUTS! Perhaps it was this way because I was taking care of a baby and trying to work, all while taking fifteen credit hours. And if this wasn't fun enough this semester....don't worry, I am signed up for 18 credit hours next semester! It will be a great time I am sure.
A little update for everyone...we are still living in Kaysville with my parents (thank heaven for that...they save me by helping babysit!). Peyton Blake is getting so big. He is almost 9 months old! Pretty sure he is a hefty 24 pounds! He is helping me to enhance my "Mommy Muscles"! He is so much fun and learning new things daily. He is crawling everywhere....and falling all the time! He now refuses to eat baby food...so we have turned to Mac N' Cheese and Spaghetti O's (which Bryan says it child abuse...he hates Spaghetti O's!) He wants to eat whatever we are eating. I can't believe how big he is getting!
I hope that all of you have a Happy Holiday!! We love you ALL!
