Tutle Obsessed.....

My boys are Ninja Turtle OBSESSED
{which is possibly an understatement}
It couldn't make their father any more proud.  He too was Ninja Turtle obsessed when he was younger.  He even found a child's Ninja Turtle raincoat at a thrift store on his mission and he bought it for his future kids.
{luckily it is safe at grandma's or we might have some world wars on our hands at our house}
I have even caught Bryan on the Ninja Turtle aisle at Target looking intently at one of the Ninja Turtle action figures claiming that he wants to "collect them all"....for the children of course.

One day earlier this spring we had to go on a turtle hunt....and check EVERY sewer.

Bryan loves to play along.  He gets the boys excited...about sewers.
{we're not odd at all}

I always get the best looks when we're walking into a store and my boys yell, "Hey, look!  It's a sewer!  Lets go look down it!"

Or when we are on a walk to our local canal and Peyton stops someone, also on a walk, and tells them that we're headed to visit the sewer.  I try and explain what he means by that but the boys usually have run ahead of me and don't give me a chance.  I usually just accept their odd look and say, "Yep,"  and nod my head.
What is the sewer {according to my boys} you ask?  Well near our house we have a little walking path next to one of the canals.  The path goes under some of the roads and they love to run and play under the bridge {or the sewer}.  This is the closest to underground that we're going to get.

After we have played in the sewer for a few minutes we go and see the ducks.  Sometimes we even see a few turtles pop their little heads above the waters to see what all of the commotion is about.

As if looking in every sewer isn't enough? No.  We actually have to be the Ninja Turtles.  Peyton is Leo because he is the "leader".  Kael is Donny because he "just likes him".  Jana {bryan's sister} is Raphael and Bryan is Mikey because that's what was left over.   I get to be April O'Neil....how did I get so lucky not to be a turtle?  I guess my ninja skills were a little rusty.
They are very serious about staying in character.  I get some funny looks when we're at the store or at church and they refer to each other as Leo and Donny.  Even their cute little friend Sophie thinks that Kael's name is Donny.

Peyton is always carrying a ninja weapon with him...."just in case Shredder shows up"!

My younger brother recently got his mission call.  When we asked Peyton where he thought Corey was going to go he said, "New York City....in the sewer!"  He wants the Ninja Turtles to come to primary!  While I am sure the New York City-Sewer Mission would be entertaining....I have smelled those things at street level....and well....those Ninja Turtles are on their own!

We're still here.......

I think that the cat is pretty much out of the bag....at least on Facebook and Instagram.
I am pregnant!
16 weeks as a matter of fact!

 Let me tell you....it has been the longest 16 weeks of my life.
I have been SO, SO, SO sick.
With the boys I was sick but not this sick.
I am hoping it is a girl...and if it's not....I want nothing to do with the business of having a girl.
I never want to be any sicker than I have been.

Due to me being sick, my children have become iPad addicts.
Thank goodness for the iPad...I mean babysitter.

I did a whole lot of this....laying around....mostly around in the same spot. All day.
Peyton's favorite thing to do was steal my phone and take pictures of anything and everything....especially pictures of me at my finest.
  Bryan was a very good sport.  He would come home from school at lunch time and feed the boys.  He would then come home around five and find me in the same spot {with a drink and a barf bucket}.  He would cook dinner and clean up the house from all of the damage our two tornadoes had created.  He then bathed and got the boys to bed.  He never complained...just helped.
I love him.

 We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary.  I was desperate to get out of the house and Bryan was tired of deciding what to cook so we went to a Mexican restaurant that we have wanted to try.
It was nice to get out.

The food looked delicious but I couldn't eat much of it.  The cheesecake however, looked delicious so I had a piece.  Unfortunately, as soon as the car started to move so did my stomach...it wanted to food out.  As I panicked because we couldn't pull over all I could find was the takeout bag to puke in.  I threw the Styrofoam container in Bryan's lap and took care of business in the bag.  It was awful...but I lived....and there wasn't a hole in the bag...so that was good.

In my days of sickness the children had lots of fun doing things that in a healthy state I might have kaboshed.  But since I was sick and didn't care what they did as long as they were happy they got away with making plenty of messes.  Their favorite game was to pull every blanket and pillow in the house and pile it high on the couch to make a "castle".
My boys were so good while I was down and out.  I am so grateful for that.  I eventually was put on some strong medicine to help with the nauseousness and as long as I take it I am feeling good.

Luckily my mom was able to come take care of us for a week and Bryan's mom came for 2 weeks to help us out.  They were both lifesavers and I am so grateful for both of them!

The sickness is starting to subside a little and things are looking up!
 I am just grateful I feel human again!
