Andy's Moving Truck

So, it is finally happening! I can't believe that we are finally moving to Dallas! We have been talking about it for what seems like FOREVER! I will have to make another post about all of the drama about getting to this point. We had ABF Vanlines move our furniture for us. We couldn't round up enough drivers to take our vehicles, plus a moving truck! This actually worked out nicely because in the end it turned out to be comparable in price to driving it ourselves. Peyton was very impressed when the big truck arrived. However, he didn't know what it was doing here until we put all of our stuff inside of it. He was a little upset when he realized that his bed was inside of the truck. I explained to him that this was Andy's moving truck just like on Toy Story. Andy had to move to a different house and a big truck had to come and get his stuff and take it to his new house and that is what this truck was going to do with his stuff. After he thought of it this way he was okay with the thought of his stuff in the truck!

We put all of our stuff except for our beds in the garage to make the moving easier. We had some good help! Bryan's cousin Nate came over and helped us move the stuff from the basement to the garage the night before. Then he showed up to help us load the van the next day. Bryan's best friend for high school, Josh also came to help. We also had help from Blake and Tim! It was so nice of everyone to come out and help us! We appreciated it so much!

We paid a pro-rated amount for 19 feet. However, for every foot we did not use we got $54.00 dollars back. So I challenged Bryan to get at least $108.00 dollars back. Boy was I in for a surprise!

Bryan and Nate suffer a little from Obsessive Compulsive Disease. They had to put their "Tetris" brains hard to work. You can see this by the way the boxes fit perfectly on the right side of the picture. Those are our couches on the left side of the picture...on their side!

Every nook and cranny was filled!

We got everything in the truck and locked up! I was blown away by the footage that we used....11 feet! That means that we didn't use 8 feet! We are going to get a refund of over $400.00 dollars!

Corey is in high school!

I can't believe that Corey is in high school!

He is so excited to go to Davis! He is so stoked about the football games, being able to leave for lunch, and A and B days! Most of all I think that he is excited to drive! I know that everyone says this when someone turns 16...but YIKES! Ha ha! It will be scary! I say that because part of me can't believe that he will be old enough in a couple of months to leave the house...in a CAR! And the other part does not want him to get hurt! We love our Corey!

First Taste of Rice Cereal

Kael is having his first taste of rice cereal. We started him off a little late because of his digestive system. We didn't know if he could take it or not...he did great!

Fun at The Gateway!

Every summer my family loves to go to The Gateway and eat at Z'Tejas on the outdoor patio. Mainly it is so we can people watch, we're just lucky it is good food. Last year we rode Frontrunner down to Salt Lake City and ate at Z'Tejas. We then took Peyton down to the fountains and he loved them. Of course he had to run through them and get soaking wet! Of course I didn't bring any clothes for him and had to run into the Gap and buy him some dry clothes. This summer I was better prepared (but in the end I didn't need to be). We had so much fun doing last summer we ended up going a few times.

This summer Tyler's parents were in town because my cousin Marty's wife had twins. They were able to bring their grandkids, Katelyn and Cameron along while their parents were at the hospital with the new twins. After we ate dinner we headed for the fountains.

Peyton has decided that he doesn't really like water all that much. It is so funny because last October when we were in Orlando he loved the pool! He would walk off of the side of the pool into his dad's arms. This summer, he just sat back and watched the kids play for awhile.

I literally have never seen a child so excited about something in my life as much as Cameron was. He was jumping and running around. It was the best! It reminds you of how simple it is to be a kid. Even the littlest things get them so excited, I love it!

Peyton thought that the chair was a safe place to be.

Bryan, giving his complaints about the new Ipod Nano. He doesn't believe that you should have to pay $35.00 dollars for a standard U.S. wall adapter. He must stick to his principles....that is why he never wants to buy APPLE. :)

Kael loved watching the fountains. He also loved the kids running around. He would squeal and laugh when ever the kids went running by! He loves Katelyn and Cameron. He belly laughs at whatever they do.

Corey carried Peyton out into the fountains. Peyton was not very happy about this...as you can tell. Of course, Corey put Peyton right over one of the fountains and it shot him right in the face. It caught him by surprise but in the end he realized he was fine.

It was so fun to go out with family for a fun tradition. I hope we can do this every year!

5 Months Old!

Kael is 5 months old!

I know I always say this but...time really flies! I can't believe how big he is getting. He is learning so many new things! Kael can completely roll over now! I was so shocked when I saw him do it about two weeks ago. Peyton didn't roll over until he was six months or so....this could have been because we was seriously chubby. I think Peyton would get high centered on his tummy and didn't know what to do besides cry. Anyways, as soon as you lay Kael down on his back to play he immediately turns over to his tummy, he loves it (Peyton hated it)! He can almost sit up on his own, he still needs a little help. He will often fall to the side. He loves to grab and hold onto things and like every baby...he loves to put EVERYTHING in his mouth. He has had his first ear infection...that is fun! He weighs 16 pounds. He is also starting to teeth...which is also FUN for the whole family! He is such a happy, friendly, sweet baby. He smiles at EVERYONE! He LOVES to smile! He already LOVES his older brother. He smiles and laughs at everything he does. I can tell that they will be great little buddies! He STILL doesn't like to sleep unless someone is right by him or holding him! He HATES riding in the car....he often screams the entire way until we reach our destination and get him out....and then he is all smiles! He thinks his dad is hilarious!! When I am holding him sometimes he will turn his head and body into me when other people try to hold him.

We love every moment with our sweet Kael and are LOVING watching him grow!!

Little Drummer Boy!

If I haven't mentioned before....Corey is Peyton's best friend. Peyton LOVES Corey! Corey is very good to allow Peyton to hang out with him. Corey lets him come in his room and play video games with him and his friends. Peyton is so excited when Corey's friends come over. He jumps up clapping his hands and says, "My friends are here! My friends are here!" Corey has some good friends to allow a little two year old to tag along!
Peyton also LOVES Rockband! Of course he doesn't really play, but he thinks he does ( I am just waiting until he figures out that they have switched his instrument into the off position)! He will tell me, "Bye Mommy, I am going to play the bass on Rockband." Or, "I want to play Rockband and play the drums." Sometimes I walk into Corey's room and he is banging on the drums all by himself.

He is so funny! I hope these are the only drums that we have to buy in our lifetime. These drums are actually quiet when he bangs on them!

Poop-Paste!!

Peyton has always wanted to brush his teeth. He has watched us brush our teeth since he was a baby and wanted in on the fun! He would always want us to put toothpaste on his toothbrush. We would always pretend to put toothpaste on his brush, but now he is old enough to realize that there is nothing on it! So now he grabs the toothpaste and his brush and watches to make sure that we are really putting toothpaste on his brush. After we give him his brush he inspects it to make sure that it has enough blue goo on it before he sticks it in his mouth. He doesn't ever brush his teeth, he just sucks off the minty paste and asks for more. A couple of months ago he brought me his toothbrush along with the toothpaste and said "Mom, I want some "Poop-Paste" on it!" I didn't know if I heard him right so I made him repeat himself! Yep, I was right...he wanted some Poop-Paste. I laughed my head off! Even though I didn't really want to correct him, I had to tell him that it was "toothpaste". He still calls it Poop-Paste.....at least I tried!
